UNINETT IPv6 Services
The following services are made available by UNINETT for non commercial
testing purposes. Some of these may be quite unstable. UNINETT is doing
this to better understand IPv6 transition mechanisms and also to generate
real traffic for the
IPv6 test network. They
are all running on Linux.
Tunnel broker available for
end users that want to test IPv6. By using the brokers web interface any
person with IPv4 internet access and a dual stack host that supports
tunneling can get access to 6bone immediately.
Web and FTP cache
Cache that can be used by IPv6 web browsers for accessing IPv4 and
IPv6 web and FTP servers at
www-cache.ipv6.uninett.no. The cache
uses Squid which listens only on IPv6 port 3128.
www.uninett.no
www.uninett.no is also available using IPv6. This is done by
using Squid as an accelerator that listens at the IPv6 address
registered for www.uninett.no, and talks to the real web server using
IPv4.
DNS
There is a caching DNS server (bind9) at
3ffe:2a00:100:7001:2e0:29ff:fe0f:a1f1.
By using this hosts that only have IPv6 can use DNS.
